“On behalf of our talented players, we are honored and privileged to welcome the Combiphar Golf Tournament on the ADT Schedule.

“We have welcomed a host of new winners this year, including George Gandranata who became the first Indonesian to win on the ADT in April. We hope to see more young and exciting talents bursting onto the scene through these new events,” said Irfan.

When asked how many tournaments the ADT would ideally like to hold in Indonesia, Irfan responded "In light of the next Olympics being held in Japan in 4 years, a greater number of tournaments would increase opportunities for Indonesian players to receive Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points that are needed to qualify for the Olympic tournament. The ADT targets that up to 6 tournaments be held annually in Indonesia."

The winner will receive six OWGR points while the top six players and ties will also earn points based on a sliding scale.

Also the top-five finishers on the final Order of Merit will secure their Asian Tour cards for 2017.

Junaidi Ibrahim Seals Vistory At IGT @ LotusLakes

KARAWANG, September 11th - Junaidi Ibrahim finally was able to realize his desire to become champion again. This year, the Indonesian Golf Tour presented by Linc Group Series VI title, held at the LotusLakes Golf Club in Karawang. is going to the man from Aceh. With great determination and remarkable patience, Junaidi could surpass defending champion George Gandranata, who kept a close fight during the 18 holes to loose by a margin of one stroke.

Junaidi and George started with the same score of one-under par, playing in the last group. "Honestly at the beginning of the game today, I actually think Mr. Maan (Maan Nasim, who was 2 strokes behind) will win," said Junaidi. Playing in a group with defending champion George also provided its own pressure for Junaidi. "I also saw George play very thorough and it was very difficult to find a gap to attack. Therefore, I tried to stay calm today and play relaxed," he added.

Junaidi's confidence began to rise after scoring a long birdie putt on hole 5. From there his game began to change, more daring. Junaidi and George both posted even par on the first nine holes. Their scores were both still at one-under par, where they were joined by Ditya Novianto who enlivened the competition by carding the same score.

Junaidi success began with a birdie on hole 12, followed by birdies on the next two holes. With three birdies in a row. Junaidi was still on top of the leaderboard with a total score while a four-under par, while George was still at one-under par. Ditya dropped out of the competition after posting three consecutive bogeys on holes 14, 15, and 16,

Then Junaidi tripped on hole 16 with a bogey and with a par at 17, he is at three-under-under before the final hole, while George reduced the difference with a birdie at holes 17, going to two-under par. Both players were determined at hole 18. The spectators who were present at the final round predicted a playoff would happen.

However, when George's ball entered the water on the par 5 hole 18, that prediction was dispersed. Unfortunately, Junaidi did not utilize this opportunity properly. Although successfully crowned champion, the 36-year-old man closed the game with a bogey, which resulted in a score of 71 (total score of 214). George had to settle for second place with a score of 215 after finishing the game with a score of 72.

"During the whole round I held strong. On hole 18 when the ball from George entered the water, I felt relaxed at that time. However, when I tried to approach the 18th green I shot it over and into the bunker. From there I began to stress. I was lucky to win. This is proof that I am still a champion," said Junaidi. For the winner of the Matoa Pro Championship in 2004, the Pro-Am Jagorawi 2004, and Mercedes-Benz Emeralda Golf Tournament 2010, the IGT Series VI title turned into a birthday present for his beloved child on September 9 and wife on September 10.

For the second time, George failed to win the title, and only managed second place. While at IGT Series II losing to Ian Andrew, this time George had to recognize the excellence of seniors. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old man was not disappointed with the result today.

"I've tried hard today. I played better and my game has been according to plan. Pak June (Junaidi Ibrahim) played well, and deserved this victory. My game started to change when he (Junaidi) birdied with a ;ong putt," said George.

With two more IGT events, Series VII and the Grand Finale, George is optimistic he can win at least one championship. Even if he is ultimately unsuccessful, he's taking many positive lessons during this 2015 season. "Although this is a down year for me, the positive is that I can still compete to be in the top 10, even top 5. And it calms my mind," said the winner of the PGA Tour Order of Merit of Indonesia in 2014.

The third position is occupied Ian Andrew who collected a total score of 216 (even par), while Ditya Novianto finished fourth with 217 (one-over par)

Generational Clash Atop Of The Leaderboard At IGT @ LotusLakes

KARAWANG, September 10 - LotusLakes Golf Club is once again turning into a nightmare for the participants of the Indonesian Golf Tour presented by Linc Group Series VI. Narrow fairways and extensive but difficult to read greens meant the participants had to work hard to achieve good scores, including Junaidi Ibrahim.

Atop the leaderboard with a score of four-under par (68) the day before, Junaidi struggled to remain in the elite group. Today he played poorly with a score of 75 (three-over par). "Today I carried a little bit of a burden. From the moment I arrived and started practicing my driving, my shots already felt uncomfortable. My mood also was uneasy. Other parts of my game were no problem. But, if the drive is no good, and my ball goes into the forest, it is difficult to recover."

Luckily, Junaidi remained in the top position with a score of one-under par (143). He shared the spot with George Gandranata who today looked slick. Junaidi is still optimistic that he can achieve good results in the last round. "Tomorrow my goal is to be champion. It's been a long time I did not become a champion," the 36-year-old golfer stressed.

Meanwhile, George became one of only two golfers were able to record a score under par in the second round. Scoring 71 (one-under par), the 27-year-old was immediately propelled to the top of the leaderboard of the Indonesian Golf Tour presented by Linc Group Series VI, together with Junaidi. "Actually, my game is not much different from yesterday. In addition to hitting my driver better today, I was more confident with my shots and putted well," he explained.

The fight between Junaidi and George at the top of the leaderboard was interesting because it represents the rivalry between big and little brother or senior and junior. Not only that, they're closely followed by their senior, Maan Nasim, who is only one shot behind. The 55-year-old veteran golfer was still eager to become champion. "From the outset I want to play here (Indonesian Golf Tour Series VI) because I want to win! Hopefully I can if I'm still in excellent physical condition tomorrow, and luck is with me. What I rely on is; I still can have fun in my game. I measure from my ability, my shots are not what they used to be. I participate to seek victory, but on the other hand I also want to exert pressure in the game," said Maan.

Right behind Maan, Junaidi, and George, the juniors are ready to surprise. They are Ditya Novianto in 4th position with a total score of 144 (one-over par), as well as Rinaldi Adiyandono, Ian Andrew, and Asep Saefulloh in a tie for 5th position with 145 (two-over par).

First Day Of IGT @ LotusLakes Belongs To The Veterans

The "Veteran" Show Superiority KARAWANG, September 9 - The first round of the Indonesian Golf Tour presented by Linc Group Series VI belonged to the veterans. with Junaidi Ibrahim, Sanusi, Maan Nasim, and Sarmilih, who all already play in the national professional golf arena for more than 15 years, vying to win the tournament with total prizes of 200 million at the LotusLakes Golf Club, Karawang. The four were perched in the top four sports of the leaderboard.

Junaidi, who is now 36-year-old, posted a score of 68 (four-under par), and sits atop the leaderboard.

Having played even par on the first nine holes (with two birdies against two bogeys), Junaidi's position continued to move to the top position after four birdies on holes 10, 12, 16, and 18. "Today was very satisfying. I learned today to play disciplined and keep control of my emotions. Because I kept control of my emotions, I controlled the game very well," said the golfer who had several times won national professional tournaments, including the Matoa Pro Championship in 2004, the Pro-Am Jagorawi 2004, and Mercedes-Benz Emeralda Golf Tournament 2010.

Facing the second round, Junaidi sure can maintain his current position. "As preparations for tomorrow basically I want more discipline and control my emotions well. I believe in skill, just need to keep the emotion," he explained. While in the lead, the golfer from Aceh was just three strokes ahead of his seniors, Maan (55 years), Sanusi (46 years), and Sarmilih. The three golfer scored 71 (one-under par), and are in a tie for second place.

George Gandranata, Asep Saefulloh, and Abhinawa Safari trailed their elders with a score of even par (72). George who started the game on the 10th tee was holding on to a score of one-under par until his 117th hole, before making a bogey on hole 9 which closed the game for the day.

The 2014 Order of Merit winner of the PGA Tour of Indonesia did not show his best performance as in last season. He is still looking for a first title in 2015. "This year was a down year for me. At least I tried to chase victory. My target is to get a win, I long to be able to get the victory. Greg Norman says 'You do not appreciate success until you taste failure'," he said.

However, George saw the positive side of the IGT competition this season. "I guess that between my game is not good or the competition becoming increasingly better. it is a combination of the two. I think this is good. Nice because I see more and more scores under par and this is something that proves that the Indonesian Golf Tour has a very positive impact," added the defending champion of IGT @ LotusLakes 2014.

Meanwhile, Asep must be satisfied with his score today because of his own mistakes. "I played calm today, but I made mistakes on the greens of hole 9 and hole 14. I made three-putts on these holes. Indeed, my putting was the problem," said Asep, who already was at one-under par until hole 12, but stumbled to a bogey on hole 14.

"Learning from today's game I need to improve my putting. That was my main problem. I need to learn to read the greens better," he said.

Third IGT Win Solidifies Benita Kasiadi's Order Of Merit Lead

Cikarang, August 6 - There were no surprises in the results of the Indonesia Golf Tour Series V at Jababeka Golf & Country Club. As predicted, Benita Yuniarto Kasiadi successfully established himself as champion at the most recent leg of the national professional golf circuit with a total of 200 million in prize money. The total score of seven-under par (206) for Benita was difficult to follow any golfer, including I Ketut Sugiarta who finished second with a score of 217 (four-over par).

Although closing the game with a score of even par in the final round, this did not change the position at the top of the Order of Merit of the Indonesia PGA 2015 Tour. "My game plan did not meet my target, making 3 under or 4 under today. i made no change in how I played. Everything was the same as yesterday", said Benita, who took home the Rp 32 million first prize.

With this result Benita nestled himself more firmly at the top of the 2015 Order of Merit. His success this time was also a record in the history of the IGT, with the largest winning margin of 11 strokes.

This IGT V Series title is Benita third title this season. He is eying another title again this season to meet his target. "Based on the management target, especially for this year, I should be able to win as much as 4 times on the IGT. Then the next target is to play an ADT tournament. Hopefully I can qualify for next year's Asian Tour", added Benita.

Series V IGT presented indeed a venue that was difficult enough for the participants. The heat became a separate obstacle for most players. They also had to face fairways that were "unfriendly". The ball seemed to stop and it seemed difficult to roll in the fairway. Plus, the slippery green conditions made it difficult for participants to make low scores.

Benita also recognized the challenges posed at this 18-hole course. "The condition of the pitch is quite hot and windy and very draining," said Benita. I Ketut Sugiarta agreed regarding the state of the pitch. He also found it difficult to develop his game. "The weather was windy which impacted my second shot, that often was caught by the wind and swirled to the left," said Ketut.

Ketut praised Benita's game that was not affected by his playing partners. Despite failing to win, Ketut was satisfied because he was beaten by a young golfer. He is also pleased that the IGT can produce young golfers with potential. "Looking at the current competition in the IGT, there are many young professionals that have extraordinary abilities. I am very proud to see new seeds that will carry the name of Indonesia to the international level", he added. For him, the IGT became a very good tournament for Indonesian professionals to compete at the local level in preparation for the international level.

After chasing one another, Kadek Adi Putra Saksama and Adrian Halimi ended up sharing the title of Low Amateur. Both had a total score of 227 (14-over par). This is the first time in the history that IGT's best amateur champion was won by two golfers.

Leading scores after the final round of IGT Series V (Par 71):

206 - Benita Y. KASIADI 67-68-71

217 - I Ketut SUGIARTA 74-71-72

220 - Johannes DERMAWAN 71-77-72, Indra HERMAWAN 70-76-74

221 - Danny MASRIN 78-74-69, Jordan Surya IRAWAN 77-74-70, Ramadhan ALWIE 75-73-73

Benita Kasiadi Takes Second Title At IGT @ Gading Raya

JAKARTA, July 9 - Do not give up until the last ball is being played. This motto was representative for Benita Y. Kasiadi appearance in the final round of the Indonesian Golf Tour Series IV, which took place from July 7 to 9 at Gading Raya Padang Golf & Klub, Serpong, Tangerang. Starting the final round 3 shots behind leader Rinaldi Adiyandono, he even fell behind as much as six strokes after the first nine holes. He finally caught up pace gradually until it he equaled Rinaldi's score at the final hole. Both accumulated a score of ten-under par (206).

This fight is reminiscent of the duel the duo fought in the Grand Final of the Indonesian Golf Tour presented by Linc Group 2014 at Imperial Klub Golf in December last year. The difference that that time Rinaldi won the final with a one-shot lead over Benita.

This time, the duel was repeated. With the winner being determined through the play-offs. Rinaldi missed a ball from a distance of 2 meters for a birdie putt to clinch victory with his first putt. He also missed his second putt which would have forced a second play-off hole. He had to finish with a three putt making bogey.

In contrary Benita recorded a par to take his second title at the 2015 IGT. It became a memorable victory for Benita when winning in IGT Series I at the Matoa Nasional Golf Club, Ciganjur, mid January. This time, he did not predict he would win, including bringing home the prize money of Rp32 million.

"The target is still to play by managing the course. Play 4-5 under. If not winning so be it. That means the opponent is better," said the son of Indonesian golf legend, Kasiadi.

On the second nine holes, Rinaldi made a bogey on hole 13. That put the difference between the two players at 3 shots, Rinaldi at 11-under and Benita at 8-under. Rinaldi tripped again on hole 16 for another bogey, while he only made par on holes 17 and 18. Benita actually posted two birdies in these hole. That meant play-offs had to be done, which was then won by Benita.

In the finishing shots of the game Rinaldi choked up. "I was shaking when hitting putts of two meters in the play-offs. I do not know why. In fact, I've been focused with my game plan. Did not think about a tie or play-off," said Rinaldi.

Meanwhile, in the amateurs, Tirto Tamardi established himself as the best in IGT 2015 Series IV. The golfer, who just fulfilled the task of representing his country at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore, posted a total score of one-over par after closing the game on the final day with a two-in under par (70).

"I am quite satisfied with today's game, although my putting shots must be improved again," said the bronze medalist for the SEA Games team in 2015.

Tirto admitted this tournament series is a major influence in his game. "Participating in the IGT can improve you game, and gain knowledge from professionals," he said. He did not target anything when appearing in this professional event. "It becomes a means for self-evaluation," said the golfer born 8 April 1999.

The opportunity to learn from professionals was felt directly by Clement Kurniawan who played for the first time in the IGT and who became second runner up in IGT Series IV. Playing with Rory Hie for three days, Clement learned interesting things.

"A lot of knowledge that can be taken from Rory Hie. He was calmer, and learn how he hits. My first experience in IGT provides many positive lessons before I go back to America today. Hopefully next year I can join IGT again and win the tournament," he said.

Indonesian Golf Tour Series V will be held in Jababeka Golf & Country Club, Cikarang, on August 11 to 13.

Rudianto Takes Surprise Win In IGT @ PG Halim II

JAKARTA, 29 May 2015 - The third leg of the Indonesian Golf Tour, which took place from 27-29 May at Padang Golf Halim II in Jakarta, ended with a big surprise. Rudianto emerged as the champion with a total score of 213 (3 under par). The golfer who the day before was in in a tie for 7th was thrusted into the top position after posting four birdies on the last day without a single bogey. In addition, the success of the golfer from Pekanbaru in Riau province, was inseparable from the failure of Maan Nasim to take advantage of opportunities.

After completing 18 holes, Rudi Anto shared the spot at the top of the leaderboard with Maan with three under (under par). Maan himself still had five holes to play with a great opportunity to become champion of the third leg of the 2015 IGT season. However, he actually stumbled on the last hole when forced to make a three-putt bogey.

"I actually would have been quite satisfied with the second position. Moreover, Bang Maan was more likely to win because he still had some holes to go. However, after Friday prayers, I was actually surprised when told that I had won. Thank God ..., " said the golfer who had played for the Riau team in PON 2008 and 2012. Rudi Anto took home the prize money amounting to Rp 32 million.

Meanwhile, Maan who was actually more favored to carve his first title since 2010 had to settle for a tie for second with a total score of 212 (two under par). Although disappointed, he viewed his failure positively.

"I have not been lucky. On the green of the final hole my ball was too far away from the pin, so I made a three putt. Today my putting was not too good," said Maan, who today posted three birdies and two bogeys.

Amateur golfer Elky Kow scored his best achievement to date in this third leg of IGT 2015. In addition to being the only amateur golfer who made the cut, the 21-year-old golfer finished in a tie for second, sharing the place with veteran golfer Maan. This is the first appearance of the former PON DKI athlete in an IGT event this season.

"Looking at the total score of today, I am actually satisfied. I could make a better score, especially in the final round. My putting was not working well," said Elky, who made three birdies and two bogeys.

Four Lead After Second Day of IGT @ PG Halim II

JAKARTA, 28 May 2015 - The fight for the top spot got tighter on the second day of the third round of the Indonesian Golf Tour at Padang Golf Halim II. Four players, representing different generations, all lead with an accumulated score of 143 (1 under par). They are Maan Nasim, Asep Saefulloh, Ian Andrew, and amateur golfer Elky Kow.

Maan, born 4 February 1960, played brilliantly on the second day. By scoring 69 he managed to improve his game from the first day when he scored of 74. Remarkably, the veteran golfer scored three birdies without a bogey.

"My putting today is not good. There were three holes in which I failed to score a birdie with a putt as far as only one meter distance. But, this time I play to win," he said.

However, he had to work hard to realize that ambition. The former Indonesia's number one golfer acknowledges that his physical condition was not as fit as before. "The only obstacle for me is just stamina. It's quite tiring for me to walk as far as 18 holes," he explained.

Although managing to stay atop the standings, two of the top three on the leaderboard the day before, Ian Andrew and Asep Saefulloh, struggled to maintain their performance today. Ian, who yesterday played 69, close the game with a 74, while Asep posted 73.

Ian admitted he played poorly on the second day, especially his iron shots. "Fortunately my chipping helped my game today," said the golfer who was born 24 July 1992.

Ian is still optimistic that he can get away from the pressure, even with more competitors for the top spot. "I'm in a tied position with three other golfers. It provides pressure for me. But I usually just play well when there is pressure," said the only Indonesian golfer who made the cut in the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters presented by Enjoy Jakarta last April.

Meanwhile, Asep was quite satisfied with today's game. "However, my putting was very poor today with an average of two putts per hole," said the golfer who was born 8 July 1982. Despite being in a condition of not physically fit, Asep motivated himself by the game shown by his opponents. "Looking at the scoreboard, I got immediately excited. Playing with great players put pressure on me. However, this just makes me more spirited," he added.

Elky was able to keep his game level on the second day. Scoring even par was enough to for the amateur golfer to rise to the top position, along with three professional golfers. "I started badly today. The first four holes I scored five-over-par and it's very disturbing. I was emotional with my game. However, I am aware of this and try to get my game back," said the golfer born 8 September 1994.

After evaluating the game for two days, Elky will change his strategy. "For tomorrow's game, the strategy must change. I will try to play as best as possible," he added.

The position of the four golfers who are in T-1 position is far from secure. Rinaldi Adiyandono and Agusnam are one shot back in a tie for 5th with a score of 144, followed closely by Rudi Anto with a score of 145.

Leading scores after the second round of IGT @ Padang Golf Halim II

143 - Maan Nasim 74-69, Elky Kow 71-72, Asep Saefulloh 70-73, Ian Andrew 69-74

144 - Rinaldi Adiyandono 74-70, Agusnam 71-73

145 - Rudi Anto 73-72

146 - Kurnia Herisiandy 76-70, Andi Soeyatmo 75-71, Ditya Novianto 75-71, Ramadhan Alwie 74-72, Sahabudin 74-72, Effendi 74-72, Dede Idris 73-73, Indra Hermawan 68-78

Indra Hermawan Leads After First Day At Halim II

Jakarta, 27 May 2015 - The 3rd round of the 2015 season of the Indonesian Golf Tour (IGT) is on at Padang Golf Halim II, with a total purse of 200 million. The tournament, held from May 27 to 29, sees a total of 102 golfers, 20 of whom have amateur golfer status, participate in this national professional golf series, that goes into its second year in 2015.

Indra Hermawan was the surprise leader at the end of the first day, after posting six birdies combined with two bogeys for a total score of 68 (4 under par). "My A game was starting to show at the last seven holes. Because there was encouragement to play fast from the marshal, I got into a fast tempo game with no time no doubt," he said.

Indra admitted that his score today was supported by everything from his long- to his short game. "My drives are nice and straight, my irons pretty good, and my putting was nice," said Indra. For the second day, Indra asserted that he had to aim for a low score in order to strengthen its position at the top. "Preparing for tomorrow, I have to play my best and score many birdies," he added.

But Indra's position is far from secure., as Ian Andrew is only one stroke (stroke) behind Indra. Though the golfer from Bali acknowledged that the condition of the pitch is good enough, his game on the green was messy. "The greens are becoming a problem for me," said the winner of the second round of the 2015 IGT.

The small difference in scores makes Ian optimistic he can chase Indra. He's ambitious to score consecutive titles after winning the IGT second eound in February. "My target this time is to become champion. I hope this could provide a boost for me to be able to play well in the Asian Development Tour tournament in Bali in June," he explained.

Threatening Indra's position is also Asep Saefulloh. The golfer from Bandung posted a score of 2 under par (70). He said that this is pay off for his hard work after his poor performances at CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. "After the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters I realized that my iron game is bad. Back in Bandung I immediately worked on improving my long iron shots. Today I was very confident with my game," said the champion of the 2010 West Java Governor Cup Amateur Golf Tournament.

Elky Kow, one of 20 amateur golfers in the tournament, was able to nestle himself in the top five of the standings. With a score of 71 (1 under par) Elky is in a tie for fourth, sharing this place with two professional golfers, Maman Suherman and Agusnam. "My game today is quite good. Only the last ten hole went not so well. At yesterday's practice round I felt that I had to play brave in my short games," he said.

Looking forward to the match tomorrow, Elky does not prepare a special strategy. "I will rest as much as possible for tomorrow. I will do the same as today and we'll see what happens later," he added.

Leading scores after the first round:

68 - Indra Hermawan

69 - Ian Andrew

70 - Asep Saefulloh

71 - Elky Kow (A), Maman Suherman, Agusnam

72 - Mahpudin, Fajar Win Nuryanto

The tournament, which was inaugurated with great success in 2011, will be jointly sanctioned by OneAsia and the JGTO for the third successive year and form part of an exciting swing on both circuits.

Damai Indah Golf – BSD Course, which boasts the first Jack Nicklaus-designed course in Indonesia, will host the tournament from July 30 to August 2.

Japan’s Michio Matsumura birdied the last three holes to win the Indonesia PGA Championship March last year. The 31-year-old posted rounds of 65, 67, 67 and 68 to finish 21-under-par and claim the US$180,000 first prize.

“This will be the fourth staging of the Indonesia PGA Championship under the OneAsia banner and we have seen it grow in stature during that time,” said Johannes Dermawan, Chairman of the PGA Tour of Indonesia.

“We witnessed a thrilling finish last year involving players from Japan, Australia, the Philippines and China reflecting the cosmopolitan makeup of the field. The Indonesia PGA Championship also affords several local players the opportunity to test themselves against Australasia’s finest and gives fans the chance to see top-quality golf.”

OneAsia Commissioner and Chairman Sung Y. Chun said that the partnership with the JGTO had borne fruit at the Indonesia PGA Championship.

“The presence of leading players from the JGTO at the Indonesia PGA Championship has taken the tournament to a new level and bred a healthy rivalry with our members,” he said.

“I am confident that the Indonesia PGA Championship will once again play an important role in the OneAsia season.”

Damai Indah Golf, the brainchild of well-known Indonesian real estate developer and business baron, Ir. Ciputra, consists of two international championship courses in completely different and challenging surroundings: BSD Course, located in the West Java satellite city of BSD; and PIK Course, located along the Java Sea in North Jakarta.

Among Jakarta golfers the BSD Course is commonly referred to as BSD. It is situated alongside the impressive Cisadane River that is back-dropped by the up-market housing estates of Bumi Serpong Damai.

Korean Choi Ho-sung drained an eight-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a two-stroke victory in the Indonesian PGA Championship at Emeralda Golf Club in 2013.

And in 2011, Australian Andre Stolz beat Indonesian number one Rory Hie by one shot at Imperial Klub Golf.

George Gandranata Aiming For Indonesian Success At CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Presented By Enjoy Jakarta Golf

Jakarta, April 21 - Former world number Lee Westwood of England is ready to renew his affinity with the US$750,000 CIMB Indonesian Masters presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf when it tees off on Thursday.

Regarded as Indonesia’s premier golf tournament, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters welcomed Westwood into its distinguished roll of honor twice in 2011 and 2012.

Significantly, it was the Westwood’s inaugural win in 2011 that saw the Englishman regain his world number one ranking from Germany’s Martin Kaymer then.

“I love coming to Asia. Obviously, I had great success here in 2011 and 2012 and I hope to make it a hat-trick this week. I remember winning on the Sunday which was also my birthday and going back to world number one then. It was a triple joy and definitely a great feeling,” said Westwood.

Westwood’s last outing to Asia in December saw him emerge victorious in Thailand and he is returning to the Royale Jakarta Golf Club high on confidence.

“I don’t really know the reason why I do so well here (Asia). It’s a mystery to me but I’ve always felt comfortable here as the golf courses are very good and I’ve certainly improved over the years,” said Westwood, the world number 33, who is the highest ranked player at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters this week.

With the growing dominance by Asian players in recent months, the Englishman is however playing down his chances and focusing on his own abilities instead.

“We’re playing against a high quality field and you know that anybody on his day can contend for this championship. So you really have to concentrate on your own game, keep up your level of fitness and try to play as good as you can,” said Westwood, who turns 42 on Friday.

Standing in Westwood’s way of another triumph at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters is Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn, a 15-time European Tour winner, who is seeking his first win in Asia this week.

The Dane has triumphed in Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Africa and hopes to add another feather to his cap with a win in Jakarta.

“It has been one of those things (winning in Asia) that has been slipping away from me over the years. I’ve come so close on a couple of occasions and eventually I’m sure I’ll get over the line,” said Bjorn.

With the erratic weather expected to make the event even more challenging, the big Dane has his preparations all mapped out.

“Dealing with the weather is part and parcel of what we do. But when you get into such conditions and especially when you come from the northern part of Europe, it can be difficult.

“It’s extreme but it’s not impossible. As long as your energy levels are there with food and drinks, you’ll push through,” said Bjorn.

Meanwhile local hopeful George Gandranata is looking forward to putting Indonesia on the world map with a solid performance this week.

“I hope to put the Indonesian flag up there in the international stage,” said Gandranata.

The 29-year-old is also relishing the opportunity to play alongside his boyhood heroes and hopes he can put up a performance of his own against these heavyweights.

“It’s actually an honor to play against some of the best players in the world, especially with these guys right here. I grew up watching these guys on TV and to be able to sit here with them is just special.

“I look forward to playing well this week and also learn a lot from these guys so that I can see where my standard lies,” said Gandranata.

Sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour of Indonesia, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf will feature 24 Indonesian golfers, 20 professionals from the PGA Tour of Indonesia and four of Indonesia’s top amateurs who will compete in the 150 player field over 72 holes of individual stroke play. Enjoy Jakarta Golf Signs Up As Presenting Sponsor For Indonesian Masters 2015

Jakarta, 17 March 2015 – Indonesia's premier golf tournament, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf, today announced a series of initiatives to ensure a truly memorable showpiece when the Asian Tour event returns to the Royale Jakarta Golf Club from April 23 – 26.

Former world no. 1 Lee Westwood of England, Denmark's Thomas Bjorn, and current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Anirban Lahiri of India are sure to provide ample entertainment inside the ropes, while new developments away from the fairways are set to ensure that the tournament's fifth edition is as well remembered off-course, as it is on.

Enjoy Jakarta, the capital city's official tourism authority, will join the prestigious event as the Presenting Sponsor, bringing a distinctly local flavor to the four-day tournament. As visitors walk through the gates, they can expect to be greeted by the presence of Abang & None Jakarta (Mr. & Miss Jakarta) who will be onsite to champion the nation's capital city.

And in what is fast becoming a tournament tradition, the newly crowned champion will once again be presented with his very own Tenun Ikat motif jacket. While the inspiration behind the idea might come from the Masters Tournament in Augusta, observers at the 2015 edition can expect to see something a little closer to home.

The 2015 jacket was created by renowned Indonesian designer, Didiet Maulana.
Left-to-right: Andrew Wood (Indonesian Masters Pte Ltd), James Rompas (Vice CEO CIMB Niaga), Disiet Maulana (Creative Director IKAT Indonesia), Tryfena Sri Rahajoe (Marketing Communications Jaguar Indonesia) and Hari Wibowo (Marketing Director Enjoy Jakarta) unveil the winner's jacket.

The creative director from IKAT Indonesia, famous for his contemporary, locally inspired designs, has created his own version of the "Green Jacket", which will have an authentic Indonesian style.

With the countdown of the tournament well under-way, leading Indonesian golfer George Gandranata lauded the new announcements. Speaking by video message about the importance of the tournament in building Indonesia's fledgling golf industry and putting the country on the world map of golf, Gandranata said: "The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Presented by Enjoy Jakarta Golf plays a crucial role in the development of golf in Indonesia at a grass roots and golf industry level. Speaking in lieu of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Governor of Jakarta, the Director Marketing Of Enjoy Jakarta, Hari Wibowo, said about the partnership: "We are very proud to announce the partnership between Enjoy Jakarta and the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2015. The collaboration with this Asian Tour event will enable us to showcase the city of Jakarta not just to the thousands of visitors that come to the tournament, but to golf enthusiasts throughout the region".

"Indonesia's capital city has an important role to play in the development of golf among ASEAN. Bringing internationally recognized events such as this tournament, as well as the Asia Golf Tourism Conference – an IAGTO global golf tourism event that will be staged in Jakarta the week following the tournament – are strategic objectives for the city of Jakarta. We look forward to welcoming the international golf community to our vibrant and highly diverse capital city next month.”

Speaking on behalf of the tournament sponsor, James Rompas, Vice CEO of CIMB Niaga added, "We are delighted to welcome both Enjoy Jakarta and Didiet Maulana to this year‟s tournament. With just over a month to go before the Asian golf community arrives in Jakarta, visitors can look forward to a world class golf tournament, complimented by a host of tourist attractions brought to us in true Indonesian style. I would like to thank both partners for their commitment to making this tournament one of the very best in the region."

Ian Andrew Wins Second Series Of The Indonesian Golf Tour At Modern

Tangerang, 26 September 2015 - It's without doubt that the competition in Indonesian golf is getting tougher. After sharing first place alongside Kurnia Herisiandy, Johannes Dermawan, and Rory Hie after the second day, Ian Andrew scored his first victory in the Indonesian Golf Tour series at Padang Golf Modern.

With 3 holes remaining, Ian Andrew, Kelly Herisiandy and George Gandranata were equal with a score of seven-under-par. George almost holed a birdie on hole 18, but failed and finished his game with a total score of 209 to tie with Kurnia Herisiandy.

"I played well today. My iron play today was better than the first 2 days, and my short game was quite supportive, as I also did three chip-ins and had 6 birdies", said George Gandranata.

"The competition is very tight. You have to really score a lot of birdies to win", added the Order of Merit champion of the Indonesian Golf Tour 2014.

Ian Andrew sealed his victory on the last two holes. On hole 17 Ian scored a birdie and followed up with a birdie on hole 18 as well. He finished the tournament with a spectacular total score of nine-under-par 207 (72-68-67).

Who would have thought that training on his putting after the first round would bring Ian the championship.

"I'd been trying to find improvement on putting on youtube till night. The next day I arrived early and tried out the different putting technique that I found and it turned out fantastic! I used it on the second day and the results are good."

"Today was tense. On the 18th hole I aimed the ball to the middle of the fairway. Only when Heri (Kurnia Herisiandy) shot his ball slightly outside the fairway I began to feel calm. And all went smoothly after that", said Ian Andrew.

Naraaji finished as Lowest Amateur in this edition of the Indonesian Golf Tour. With a total score of two-over-par 218 (74-71-71), Naraajie overtook Faraby Ali, who had been the leading amateur on the first and second day. Finishing in second position in the amateur class was Rizky, with a total score of three-over-par, 72-74-73 (219).

The tight competition proves that the presence of Indonesian Golf Tour tournament series pushes the ability of the Indonesian professional and amateur golfers to a new level. The consistent support from sponsors and the PGA Tour of Indonesia (PGTI) in the organization of the Indonesian Golf Tour becomes evidence of a strong commitment to the advancement of golf in Indonesia.

Thanks goes to Padang Golf Modern, Nuanza, OB Golf & Lifestyle magazine, as well as the PGA Tour of Indonesia. Once more, the tournament was executed fantastically and ended in a great success.

Westwood Back To Reclaim Crown At 2015 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters

Jakarta, February 10 - The international golfing community turned its attention to Indonesia last week as organizers on Wednesday February 4 celebrated the launch and fifth anniversary of the country’s preeminent golf tournament with an official clock to count down the 78 days to the start of the 2015 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters.

The occasion was marked by the confirmation of three star players who will feature in 2015 edition of the tournament, in defending champion Anirban Lahiri from India, former World No. 1 Lee Westwood, and European Tour and Ryder Cup veteran, Thomas Bjorn from Denmark.

The three players will join a stellar 150 player field when the US$ 750,000 Asian Tour tournament returns to the beautiful surroundings of the Royale Jakarta Golf Club from April 23-26 this year.

27 year old Lahiri will be hoping to pick up where he left off last April, when he eagled the last hole of the tournament to claim a one shot victory over Baek Seuk-hyun of Korea and 2014 Rookie of the Year Cameron Smith of Australia.

Lahiri notched up a second victory in Macau and a further six top-ten finishes in a year that culminated with a second place finish on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and being voted 2014 Players’ Player of the Year for his exploits on the Asian Tour.

Speaking about his title defense in Jakarta, Lahiri said, “2014 was a very special year but it was this tournament where it really came together and set me up for the rest of the year. The eagle on the last hole is a putt I will never forget, so I have very happy memories of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters and look forward to coming back to defend my title. It’s always a very competitive tournament and a great event.”

Two time tournament champion and veteran of 41 professional wins, Lee Westwood will be looking to prove that experience counts over youth as he looks to make it three wins at the tournament he claimed back to back victories at in 2011 and 2012. Coinciding with his birthday, landing the hat trick in Jakarta would be a welcome start to his 42nd year.

“The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters is a tournament that I know well and, having won twice there, I have always felt very comfortable. It’s a great course and CIMB Niaga stage a truly first class tournament. I would love to make it a hat trick of wins.” added the Englishman.

Meanwhile Denmark’s Bjorn will be hoping to rediscover the form that has seen him land prestigious titles including the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles and Omega European Masters in a professional career that began back in 1993.

The veteran of six victorious European Ryder Cup campaigns said, “I’m looking forward to making my debut at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club. I’ve heard good things about the tournament and look forward to lining up alongside Anirban and Lee in April. The tournament comes quickly after the Masters so I’ll be looking for a good result in Indonesia to serve as a springboard for a successful summer in Europe.”

Speaking on behalf of the tournament sponsor, Arwin Rasyid, President Director of CIMB Niaga said, “2015 is a special year for the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. It marks the fifth year of the tournament as well as four years of CIMB Niaga’s involvement. During that time, the tournament has grown in stature, attracting both the best players on the Asian Tour as well as some of the most recognized names in the history of the modern game who come to compete in Indonesia.

“In addition to our continued support for junior golf development in Indonesia, it is our hope that the tournament will inspire a future generation of Indonesians to fulfill their potential as players and represent our country on the world stage in years to come”, added Arwin.

Asian Tour Chairman Kyi Hla Han said, “Through CIMB Niaga’s commitment and sponsorship, the Indonesian Masters has grown into one of the most popular events on our schedule since 2011 where it has attracted many leading stars. The exciting event is also an important fixture for the Indonesian golfers as it provides them with the opportunity to play against the best players from the Asian Tour and also the world.”

The countdown clock will be on public display between now and the tournament at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, CIMB Tower and the JS Luwansa Hotel and Convention Center which will once again be the Official Hotel of the tournament, providing hospitality and accommodation for players and tournament officials.

Sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour of Indonesia (PGTI), the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters will feature 24 Indonesian golfers, 20 professionals from the PGTI and four of Indonesia’s top amateurs who will compete in the 150 player field over 72 holes of individual stroke play.

Magelang, November 18 - Thailand’s Supravee Phatam produced inspirational golf in harmony with his surrounds after firing a seven-under-par 65 on the opening day of the US$60,000 Borobudur Classic.

His performance broke the course record at Borobudur International Golf & Country Club, which is a short 20-minute drive from the world’s largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur.

Supravee finished the day with a healthy three-stroke lead over compatriot Pasamet Pogamnerd, in the penultimate event of the 2014/2015 season on the ASEAN PGA Tour.

Thailand’s Pasavee Lertvilai, Indonesia’s Andik Mauluddin and amateur Jo Seik , Goh Kun Yang from Singapore ended the day tied for third after returning 71s.

In stark contrast to the rest of the field Supravee did not drop any shots. He went out in three under with birdies on the first, third and ninth. Another birdie on the 10th put him in a strong position before he saved the best for last with birdies on the last three holes.

“It is a short course but narrow so you can get into trouble very easily with a big score on one hole,” said Supravee.

“I managed to stay out of trouble with a bit of luck. It will be hard to stay out of trouble all week but I will stick to the same game plan and try and repeat today’s round.”

Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat, the winner of a record five titles on the ASEAN PGA Tour, was in the hunt for much of the day but made back-to-back double bogey sixes on 13 and 14 to slip to a 74.

This year marks the first Borobudur Classic and the tournament has been set up to assist the local golf tourism industry.

Borobudur temple, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, plays a major role in tourism and is Indonesia’s single most visited tourist attraction.
