Combiphar Golf Invitational Set For ADT Debut In November

Jakarta, October 18 - The Combiphar Golf Invitational will make its Asian Development Tour (ADT) debut at Royal Tulip Gunung Geulis Golf Resorts in Indonesia this November.

The US$60,000 ADT event, which will be the Tour’s second stop in Indonesia this season, is slated to take place from November 23 to 26 in Bogor - West Java, about 60 kilometers south from Jakarta.

A 144-man field, made up of 80 players from the ADT, 50 players from the Professional Golf Tour of Indonesia (PGTI) and 14 invitees, will feature in the inaugural tournament, which will be the 22nd leg of the ADT schedule this season.

Michael Wanandi, CEO of Combiphar, Indonesia’s leading consumer healthcare company and title sponsor of the event, said: “As part of our 45th year anniversary in celebrating health in Indonesia, we are very delighted to announce the inaugural Combiphar Golf Invitational and look forward to a successful tournament by working with the ADT.”

“One of the reasons why we are hosting this new tournament is to showcase emerging talents from our country as well as from across the region and provide them with the platform to escalate their careers onto the Asian Tour,” Michael added. "Another reason is too expand our name recognition in the ASEAN region, as Combiphar products are sold in neighboring countries as well."

The Combiphar Golf Invitational also provides opportunity to all participants and partners to take part in donating to four unique social organizations in Indonesia which support health, education, women empowerment and facility enhancement through: Pink Shimmer Inc, an organization dedicated to helping breast cancer patients and survivors. SabangMerauke, a local student exchange program focused on promoting education, tolerance and Indonesian pride nationwide. Circa HandMade, focusing on empowering and educating a community of women handcrafters in Bandung as well as Jaka Perkasa Citra Cemerlang, for its numerous water infrastructure projects in remote areas throughout Indonesia.

Michael Wanandi, CEO of Combiphar (center), addresses the media accompanied by (l-r) Agus Triyono (Secretary General of the PGA Tour of Indonesia), Irfan Hamid (Associate Director at the Asian Tour), Agung Budiman (President Director of Gunung Geulis Golf Resort) and Merry Kwan (OB Golf)

Agung Budiman, Presiden Director of Gunung Geulis Golf Resort, also expressed his excitement in hosting an ADT event for the very first time.

“We are pleased to support the Combiphar Golf Invitational as host venue. We can’t wait to welcome the region’s rising stars to the event,” said Agung.

Asian Tour Associate Director Irfan Hamid was thrilled to welcome the Combiphar Golf Invitational as the newest tournament on the ADT Schedule.

“On behalf of our talented players, we are honored and privileged to welcome the Combiphar Golf Tournament on the ADT Schedule.

“We have welcomed a host of new winners this year, including George Gandranata who became the first Indonesian to win on the ADT in April. We hope to see more young and exciting talents bursting onto the scene through these new events,” said Irfan.

When asked how many tournaments the ADT would ideally like to hold in Indonesia, Irfan responded "In light of the next Olympics being held in Japan in 4 years, a greater number of tournaments would increase opportunities for Indonesian players to receive Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points that are needed to qualify for the Olympic tournament. The ADT targets that up to 6 tournaments be held annually in Indonesia."

The winner will receive six OWGR points while the top six players and ties will also earn points based on a sliding scale.

Also the top-five finishers on the final Order of Merit will secure their Asian Tour cards for 2017.

CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Looking To Build More Homes For Those In Need

Jakarta, 20 March 2014 - Sponsors and partners of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014 have pledged to build more homes for the less fortunate as part of its Habitat for Humanity Indonesia drive.

Since its launch in 2011, organizers behind the US$750,000 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters have been instrumental in building 29 homes for families in need.

Together with National Energy Company, Pertamina, it has also provided over 10,000 people in the Cilamaya area with clean water solution.

“Giving back to the community is always a priority for CIMB Niaga and we are very happy as title sponsor to be a part of an event that has already achieved so much in terms of building homes and providing a clean water solution to the families in need of Indonesia. CIMB Niaga together with our other fellow sponsors and partners will strive to build more homes with each passing year of our sponsorship,” said Head of Brand, Marketing & Communications CIMB Niaga, Harsya Denny Suryo.

Asian Tour Chairman Kyi Hla Han lauded the charity initiative and said: “From the very beginning, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has made strong efforts to give back to the community. The Asian Tour is proud to be associated with an event that has a family of sponsors and partners that prioritizes helping people through the sport of golf.”

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has cemented its place as the nation’s most prestigious event and has featured prominently on the Asian Tour Schedule since 2011.

Since it was launched, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has attracted many leading stars including Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Darren Clarke and Michael Campbell, to name a few.

The fourth edition of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters will welcome a stellar field that includes reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit champion Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand, Major winner Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa, defending champion Bernd Wiesberger of Austria, and Thai star Thongchai Jaidee.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has also received a significant boost as it welcomes on board Taylormade as the tournament equipment partner, Loewe as Official TV, Beringer as Official Wine, Srixon as Official Ball and Ricoh as Official Office Equipment.

These new sponsors join a host of corporates already committed to the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. They include Linc Group, Pertamina, BMW Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia, Salonpas, Telkomsel, San Miguel, SvinGolf, JS Luwansa Hotel, Noble Group and Oakley.

While the Asian Tour event has attracted a host of world class players, it has also placed much emphasis on the development of golf in Indonesia.

The Youth Development initiatives of the tournament include three golf clinics conducted at Royale Jakarta Golf Club for 20 Juniors selected by the Indonesian Golf Association (Persatuan Golf Indonesia) and CIMB Foundation (CIMB Group's Junior Development Program for Golf).

Each program is conducted monthly beginning in January 2014 and includes a one and a half hour clinic followed by a nine-hole playing lesson.

The top five most attentive juniors from each session will stand a chance to win an exclusive behind the scenes access to the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014 as well as an opportunity to meet the Star Players of the event.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Amateur League qualifies one Indonesian amateur for the tournament proper.

Indonesian amateurs can participate in this league by entering the newly established Indonesia Golf Tour, which sees 14 tournaments conducted this year.

30 male amateurs have the opportunity to play together with Indonesian golf professionals in three-day tournaments conducted across Jakarta.

The highest ranked amateur following their participation in the series between January and April 2014 (three events total) wins the opportunity to play against the best of the Asian Tour and PGA Indonesia in the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014.

More Stars To Shine At Indonesian Masters 2014

Jakarta, 25 February 2014 - Reigning Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand and 2010 British Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa have confirmed their participation at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters which tees off at Royale Jakarta Golf Club from April 24-27 2014.

Oosthuizen and Kiradech are the latest in a strong line-up of big hitters that includes defending champion Bernd Wiesberger of Austria, and Asian golfing legend Thongchai Jaidee, who will battle it out at the US$750,000 Asian Tour event.

“We are very pleased to hear that Louis Oosthuizen and Kiradech Aphibarnrat have signed up to play in the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014. It is indeed fantastic to have such high caliber of professional golfers from both the European Tour and Asian Tour choosing our event to be part of their schedule. I am sure the golfing fans of Indonesia will be very excited with this news and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Royale Jakarta in April,” said Wan Razly Abdullah, Strategy & Finance Director of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (CIMB Niaga).
LTR: Irfan Hamid (Asian Tour), Helena Abidin (BMW Indonesia), Wan Razly Abdullah (CIMB Niaga), Ali Mundakir (Pertamina) and George Chandra (Royale Jakarta Golf Club) with the Indonesian Master trophy center stage.

Asian Tour Chairman Kyi Hla Han said: “We are delighted that our 2013 Order of Merit winner Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Major Winner, Louis Oosthuizen have confirmed their participation for the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has featured prominently on our Asian Tour Schedule since 2011 where it has attracted many leading stars including Lee Westwood and Ernie Els. The event has grown into one of the most popular and exciting events on our Schedule and this is possible only through the unwavering support of CIMB Niaga.”

“CIMB Niaga’s sponsorship goes a long way in promoting international sports tournament to be hosted in Indonesia and this event will also benefit the Indonesian golfers as it gives them the opportunity to play against the best players from the Asian Tour and also the world. We want to bring the international class sports event to Indonesia while at the same time promoting Indonesia to the world. As this event is televised to 650 million viewers household,” added Han.

Asian Tour number one, Kiradech, is one of the most exciting young players to emerge from Thailand. He won the Malaysian Open in March last year to seal his second Asian Tour victory and showcased his immense talent when he eclipsed some of the PGA Tour biggest stars at the CIMB Classic by finishing third.

Oosthuizen secured his place in the history books with a magnificent victory in the 139th Open Championship at St Andrews. His seven stroke win placed him alongside South African legends Bobby Locke, Gary Player and Ernie Els as Open Champions.

Louis nearly added another Major trophy in 2012 but lost to Bubba Watson in a play-off for the Masters Tournament, having produced a magical albatross in the final round at Augusta National - the first on the 575-yard par five second hole - with a 253-yard four iron.

The venue for the event is in top shape, according to George Chandra, COO of Royal Jakarta Golf Club, adding that the torrential rains flooding Jakarta in the last couple of weeks didn't render the course unavailable for a single day. The added drainage over the last few years made sure that the course is playable within 15-30 minutes after the rain stops, ensuring minimum delays in case the weather is unfavorable during the event.

The announcement comes as long term sponsors Pertamina, Official Automobile Partner, BMW Indonesia and national airline Garuda Indonesia continue their commitment to the event, while Oakley signs on as a new partner, signifying the growing strength of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters.

Other tournament sponsors include Telkomsel, Noble Group, OB Golf & Lifestyle Magazine, Salonpas, Linc Group, Rolex, JS Luwansa, SvinGolf and San Miguel.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has cemented its place as the nation’s most prestigious event and continues to grow since its inauguration in 2011 with long-term event partners.

The Youth Development initiatives of the tournament include three golf clinics conducted at Royale Jakarta Golf Club for 20 Juniors selected by the Indonesian Golf Association (Persatuan Golf Indonesia) and CIMB Foundation (CIMB Niaga's Junior Development Program for Golf). Each program is conducted monthly beginning in January 2014 and includes a one and a half hour clinic followed by a nine-hole playing lesson. The top five most attentive juniors from each session will win a chance to have an exclusive behind the scenes access to the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014 as well as an opportunity to meet the Star Players of the US$750,000 Asian Tour event.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Amateur League qualifies one Indonesian amateur for the tournament proper. Indonesian amateurs can participate in this league by entering the newly established Indonesia PGA Champions Tour, which sees 14 tournaments conducted this year.

30 amateurs have the opportunity to play together with Indonesian golf professionals in three-day tournaments conducted across Jakarta and other selected cities in Indonesia. The highest ranked amateur following their participation in the series between January and April 2014 (five events total) wins the opportunity to play against the best of the Asian Tour and PGA Indonesia in the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2014.

More information about the youth development program and amateur league is available on www.indonesianmasters.co.id

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters also focuses on giving back to the community through its charity initiatives together with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. To date, the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has managed to build 31 homes for families in need and together with National Energy Company, Pertamina, built a clean water solution for over 10,000 people in the Cilamaya area.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters will have widespread exposure via a strong local media platform and the Asian Tour’s global television platform, which reaches out to over 200 countries and 650 million households on the Live, Highlights, Asian Tour Golf Show and Golfing World.

Chihiro Ikeda Wins Inaugural Lydia Ivana Memorial Tourney's Skins Game

Jakarta, 15 September 2013 — Chihiro Ikeda lived up to the hype after she won 13 holes and was crowned queen of the Skins Game in the inaugural Lydia Ivana Memorial Golf Tournament at the Senayan National Golf Club.

Ikeda, Vietnamese Tang Thi-nung, Thai Nontaya Srisawang and local star Ines Putri, participated in the Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT) in the Skins Game (similar to match play) to honor Indonesia’s only woman professional Lydia Ivana Jaya, who died of pneumonia last July 17.
Left-to-right: Ines Putri, Tang Thi-nung, Chihiro Ikeda and Nontaya Srisawang pose before teeing off.

The Filipino-Japanese Ikeda was in fiery form all day at the short but challenging par-69 course, taking more than half of the holes, which carried a certain amount. She capped it by winning the final hole, worth 12 million rupiah.

The tournament, witnessed by Lydia Ivana’s parents, amassed a total of 150 million rupiah, including 10 million from the memorabilia auction, and will be turned over to the four foundations that Lydia Ivana supported.

Ikeda, who plays in the Philippine and Japan Golf Tours, represented the Lydia Ivana Golf Academy, with Tang for the Ebenhenzer Foundation, Nontaya for the Elang Muda Indonesia and Ines for the Sahabat Anak Foundation.

“LAGT is no longer the same without Lydia. She was very helpful and sometimes did the little things like buying me food or drink. She was that sweet,” said Ikeda, who was joined by national coach Bong Lopez.

Organizers of this tournament and the other golf clubs in Indonesia are already thinking of making this an annual event under the LAGT banner.

Lidya Ivana Memorial To Be Held 15 September On Senayan National Golf Club

‘The Reborn’ Senayan National Golf Club will be hosting the historical inaugural ‘LIDYA IVANA MEMORIAL’, a golf event to pay tribute to Lidya Ivana Jaya, the only current Indonesian female professional golfer who passed away recently. The event will be held on September 15th 2013.

Lidya Ivana Jaya was the only current Indonesian female golfer who played in professional golf tour in the world.

This tournament is held not only to commemorate and honor the figure of Lidya Ivana Jaya, but more so to revive her spirit and dream to bring Indonesia’s golf to the highest level. This spirit is expected to continue to live on in every Indonesian golf athlete to be able to achieve their goals.

In this inaugural tournament, we will be raising funds to be distributed to foundations, orphanages and also the golf academy that has been continuously supported by the late Lidya Ivana Jaya.

“Although we felt in deep sorrow that we learned we have lost one of our dear members, LAGT is proud to be involved in this memorial event and will do its best to assist. Many players expressed their wish to attend the event to remember Lidya, and we were able to select some of her best friends to do so”, said Mr. Koichi Kato, President of Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT).

Indonesia Golf Association (PGI) and Indonesia PGA (IPGA) share a deep loss of Lidya Ivana Jaya and they both support and look forward to this new tournament. Both PGI and IPGA hopes that this tournament will trigger all junior golfers, especially girls, to put their commitment to golf so that looking for Lidya Ivana Jaya's successor will not be a difficult task.

Nike Golf through PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk. (MAP Active) was involved from the very beginning and strongly supports this upcoming event as Lidya Ivana Jaya was the brand ambassador of Nike Golf since December 2010. “Late Lidya was a good friend and part of our MAP golf team family. She’s a wonderful person and has a great personality. She will always be in our heart and thoughts”, said Pilar Medina, Sr. Golf Marketing Manager, MAP Active.

At this inaugural event the tournament will be in the format of 'Skins Game', where the professional players will represent different charitable foundations to raise funds. In addition to the 'Skins Game' a tournament for amateur players will also be held as well as a pro-am will be held a day before the main event for the 'major sponsor'.

Fully supported by Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT), Indonesia Golf Association (PGI) & Indonesia PGA, this event offers fantastic entertainment for golf enthusiast in Indonesia. This inaugural event scheduled in September 2013 will involve Professionals from LAGT member countries. This will create one of the prime and credible tournaments in Indonesia and is destined to capture the imagination of the region’s golf fans.

As the first of its kind in LAGT, this tournament will definitely give more values to the tour.

Indonesian Masters Continues Its Support For Habitat For Humanity

Jakarta, 7 March 2013 - With the recent flooding that has plagued many parts of Indonesia, sponsors and partners of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2013 have decided to focus its charity initiatives this year towards building homes for flood victims in the nation together with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia.

George Chandra (Royale Jakarta GC, 2nd left), Agus Triyono (PGA Indonesia, 3rd left), Gatot Subagio (CIMB Niaga, 4ht left), James Tumbuan (Habitat, 4th right) and Irfan Hamid (Asian Tour, 3rd right) amidst models wearing the new Indonesia Masters apparel.

“2013 has seen severe flooding in Jakarta and other cities of Indonesia, causing much damage. With this in mind, we feel our charity efforts should be turned to helping flood victims and helping selected families get their feet back on the ground with our assistance. Professional Golf Tournaments like the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters provide a great platform to raise funds to help people in need and CIMB Niaga is very happy to be associated with an event that has made giving back part of its agenda since its inauguration in 2011.” said Gatot Subagio, Head of Corporate Communications of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (Title Sponsor).

Gatot also explained that CIMB Niaga has been providing aid to flood victims in areas like Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi and some other flood-affected areas such as in West Sulawesi, West Java, Central Java, and Banten since 2012. Assistance is given in the form of basic necessities such as food, drugs, supplies for women and babies as well as sanitary equipment aimed to ease the burden on the residents in the various areas. Our aid is distributed through the flood-aid posts which are specially built to serve the area.

With a strong family of sponsors and partners, the Asian Tour and PGA Indonesia (Indonesian Professional Golf Association) affiliated professional golf tournament will take place at Royale Jakarta Golf Club from May 2nd – 5th 2013. The star studded field includes big hitters Ernie Els, John Daly, Darren Clarke, Michael Campbell and Simon Dyson.

The charity drive for the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2013 will include all ticket sales proceeds being donated directly to effort as well as the auctioning of sports memorabilia and direct donations from sponsors and partners.

"We are excited to once again be part of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters initiative that builds homes and builds lives for families in need in Indonesia. We have managed to serve 25 families over the past two years through the efforts of this great international golf event and look forward to helping victims of flooding for 2013. All the sponsors and partners of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters should be commended for their efforts to give back to the community through the event. Habitat for Humanity is proud to be part of an event that demonstrates — with actions more than words — alleviating poverty in Indonesia one home at a time," said James Tumbuan, National Director, Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. He added that 4 to 5 Billion Rupiahs (around $400k-$500k) would allow the goals set for this year to be achieved, a target that is certainly achievable.

Indonesian Junior Golfer Inspires CIMB To Engage In Charity

Kuala Lumpur, 30 October 2012 - Twenty-three top junior golfers from the ASEAN region were honoured at the CIMB Junior Golf Development Programme player recognition ceremony last week.

Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, group chief executive of CIMB Group, presented certificates of achievement to the top juniors in this year’s CIMB Junior Golf Development Programme.

The juniors were honoured for their numerous successes in local, regional and international tournaments.

Among the recipients were Thailand’s Puwit Anupansuebsai, who won the World Masters of Junior Golf Tournament 2012 in the Boys 11-12 years category; Benyapa Niphatsophon, also of Thailand, winner of the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship 2012 in the girls’ 15-17 age category; and Indonesia’s Jordan Surya Irawan, the youngest participant at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters 2012. All three were successful at the Enjoy Jakarta World Junior Golf Championship 2012 (EJWJGC), held last June at Pantai Indah Kapuk course, as well.

Ten Malaysian juniors were also among the recipients of the certificates of achievement, including Sarfina Seretharan (pic), Loy Hee Ying, Natasha Andrea Oon, Albright Chong, Ervin Chang and Paul San.

Raja Noorma Othman, the chief executive officer of CIMB Foundation, said: “When we assumed the title sponsorship of the CIMB Classic in 2010, we launched the CIMB Junior Golf Development Programme to inspire a generation of juniors to pursue their dreams of playing professional golf at the highest level.

“Judging from the quality of achievements that has been accomplished by these junior golfers today, I firmly believe that we are moving rapidly towards seeing these juniors becoming top professionals,” she said.

CIMB Foundation also donated RM50,000 to the IJN Foundation and it will go towards providing cardiac treatment for underprivileged children.

The idea of funding medical treatment for children was inspired by an essay penned by Indonesia’s Paquita Gadin, who had written about her vision of providing free medical treatment to needy children when she reaches the top echelons of professional golf.

CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters Presented By PNTS Charity Gala Dinner To Raise Funds For Habitat For Humanity

Jakarta, April 18, 2012 - World number three Lee Westwood, Major champions Ian Woosnam and Michael Campbell joined the stars from the Asian Tour at a charity gala dinner during the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters presented by PNTS to raise more than US$35,000 for the underprivileged in Indonesia on Tuesday.

The charity dinner was held in conjunction with the event’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, a non-profit organisation which builds homes for the poor in the country.

The funds raised will ensure that a total of 14 homes will be built by the Habitat for Humanity, an increase of three homes from last year.

Formed in 1997, Habitat for Humanity Indonesia has housed approximately 30,000 families in the country through various activities and sponsorship initiatives.

Habitat for Humanity has its presence in over 100 countries worldwide and in more than 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region such as Thailand, Philippines, India, China, Cambodia and Indonesia.

PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (“CIMB Niaga”), which is title sponsoring the Indonesian Masters, started the ball rolling by donating some of their dinner tables for Habitat for Humanity Indonesia for sale to donors; a total of four homes were built from this alone.

Catherine Hadiman, Vice President Director of CIMB Niaga lauded the charity element linked to the US$750,000 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters presented by PNTS.

“Charity drives bolted on to the world class golf tournaments are great initiatives. We are proud that the event we are sponsoring not only to support the world of sport but also show a level of social responsibility. Even the players have shown their support by helping Habitat for Humanity Indonesia raise funds,” said Catherine.

“We hope that this type of charity element will grow in stature as we build the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters into a world class event”.

The charity gala dinner was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta on April 17. Money was raised through live auction of sports memorabilia and raffle ticket sales for lucky draw prizes where a grand prize of a CIMB Niaga Flat screen TV was up for grabs.

The CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters presented by PNTS will be held at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club from April 19 to 22.

Sponsors and partners of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters will enjoy widespread exposure via a strong local media platform and the Asian Tour’s global television platform, which reaches out live to over 200 countries and 650 million households, Highlights, Asian Tour Golf Show and Golfing World.

Indonesia’s premier news channel, Metro TV, will also be broadcasting the event locally for 10 hours live and will be airing additional shows and features related to the event and the positive impact it has on the economy of Indonesia.

BJGC Seve Ballesteros Foundation Challenge

”I'm here because golf is my sport and I like to compete, ... Just by being here I'm already beginning to win.”
Seve Ballesteros

Bali Junior Golf Community together with Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club is joining an initiative in Spain to raise funds for The Seve Ballesteros Foundation in support of Cancer Research.

The weekend of April 7th & 8th 2012 a 2-day Challenge charity tournament supporting The Seve Ballesteros Foundation will be held at Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club.

The event in Bali is part of a initiative in Spain which will see thousands of golfers at golf clubs raise money for Seve's Foundation, which funds research into brain cancer.

Golfers at Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club will tee off in their bid not only to raise money for charity, but also to try to promote junior golf in Bali as well as the mentor program for juniors which will see a team event for day 1 where 2 adults will be paired with 2 juniors.
We want to also educate our juniors from an early age about giving back through golf.

A strong field of adult and junior golfers is expected on the day, at the popular local course who always throws itself wholeheartedly behind the juniors and golf.

Bali Handara Kosaido County Club general manager Mark Isley said: "We are very honored to hold this event and support Bali Junior Golf Community as well as the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, which helps fund Cancer Research UK's world class research into brain cancer". Our members are an exceptional group of people and tremendously generous, so we look forward to a great day.".

About Seve Ballesteros
A forrmer World No.1 and winner of over 80 tournaments including five major championships, Seve Ballesteros was, for a decade, arguably the greatest golfer in the world.

Seve will always be remembered for the strength and determination he showed not only on the golf course but also in the last years of his life, as he bravely fought brain cancer.

The Seve Ballesteros Foundation Challenge 2011
On April 9, 2011 over 140 golf courses in Spain and 12,000 players participated in the "First Edition Seve Ballesteros Foundation Challenge."
The world of golf has more than responded to a project conceived and led by Seve Ballesteros for the sole purpose of raising funds to promote research on brain tumors,

Approximately 4,000 people a year in Spain and 100,000 in the world are diagnosed with brian tumors for which, at present, no cure is available.

What is The Seve Ballesteros Foundation?
In October of 2008, Seve Ballesteros collapsed at Madrid Airport. He was later diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent life saving brain surgery at La Paz hospital in Madrid. "This is the toughest match of my life," he said.
The courage and determination he had shown for 30 years on the golf course now helped him in his greatest challenge. "You must always fight, never give up." spirit, together with the skill and expertise of the surgeons at La Paz Hospital in Madrid gave him what he now calls "My second chance". After four operations Seve left hospital on 9 December 2008.
Seve Ballesteros believes he can make a difference in the fight against brain cancer. Now Seve has decided to support Cancer Research UK. The ambition is to raise significant funds for research into brain cancer. "I want to help; I want to do something to fight this disease."
Cancer Research UK is the world's largest charity dedicated to cancer research. Their doctors and scientists have contributed to 19 of the top 20 drugs used to treat cancer patients worldwide.
