CIMB To Send Budding Juniors For Stint In America

Kuala Lumpur, 29 October 2011: The CIMB Foundation will send eight of the region’s top junior golfers for an overseas training stint in the United States in December.

This is part of the CIMB junior golf development programme in the ongoing CIMB Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia.

The juniors – four boys and four girls – will be from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.

They are Paul San and Sarfina Seretharan (Malaysia); Putri Aisyah Amani and Joshua Andrew Wirawan (Indonesia); Puwit Anupansuebsai and Savitree Thavong (Thailand); and Caleb Ng and Rachel Cheang (Singapore).

The eight are the second batch of juniors to be sent to undergo the intensive training programme, which will be conducted by the US PGA Tour Academy at its headquarters at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

The junior golfers also had an opportunity to learn from the professionals during the practice round on Tuesday and the pro-am on Wednesday.
