The Keppel Group raised $360,000 in support of Gawad Kalinga Indonesia, Singapore Red Cross as well as for education and needy students in Bintan through a charity golf tournament at the Ria Bintan Golf Resort in Bintan Island, Indonesia, today.
Mr Choo Chiau Beng, Chief Executive Officer of Keppel Corporation, said, "Keppel is committed to empower lives and nurture communities wherever we operate and this fund-raising event aims to benefit Indonesia through community building and relief efforts. We have been privileged to grow with Indonesia through our businesses and this is one of the ways we are giving back."
The cheque was presented by Keppel Corporation's Chairman Dr Lee Boon Yang and Mr Choo to the Yang Terhormat Bapak Khazalik, Deputy Bupati of Bintan; Mr Ed Macesar, Head of GK Indonesia and Mr Tee Tua Ba, Chairman of the Singapore Red Cross.
